Next Note Forward is a free online violin mentoring initiative that provides individualized guidance to violin students of all ages. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website and lesson request form, how we use it, and how we protect it.

When a parent or guardian submits a lesson request, we may collect:
Parent or guardian’s name.
Parent or guardian’s email address.
Student’s first name.
Student’s violin experience level.
The student’s learning goals or what they would like help with.
Preferred lesson times.
We aim to collect only information reasonably necessary to coordinate and provide violin mentoring sessions. We do not ask students to provide their home address, school name, or other unnecessary personal information.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information collected to:
Respond to lesson requests.
Coordinate and confirm online violin mentoring sessions.
Understand a student’s learning goals.
Communicate with parents or guardians about lessons.
Maintain and improve the mentoring initiative.
We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
3. Information Sharing
We do not publicly share students’ personal information. Our website is hosted through Hostinger. Our scheduling form and email services may be provided through third-party services. These services may process information as necessary to operate the website, receive lesson requests, and communicate with parents or guardians. We do not record online lessons or publish student photos, videos, or identifying information without appropriate permission.
4. Online Lessons Through Zoom
Next Note Forward uses Zoom to provide live online violin mentoring sessions. Students may be asked to join a Zoom meeting using a meeting link provided to their parent or guardian. During a lesson, Zoom may process information such as:
Display name or name used to join the meeting.
Audio and video shared during the lesson.
Meeting date, time, and participation information.
Chat messages or files shared during the lesson, if those features are used.
Recording and transcription features will be disabled when necessary.
Students should avoid sharing unnecessary personal information during lessons, such as their home address, school name, or other private information. Zoom is a separate service operated by Zoom Communications, Inc. Its processing of personal information is governed by its own privacy practices. 4. Children’s Privacy and Parental Consent
Next Note Forward serves students of any age. A parent or guardian must submit the lesson request form for students under 13. Parents and guardians are encouraged to be involved in their child’s participation and online lessons. For students under 13, Next Note Forward will follow applicable children’s privacy requirements and obtain any required parental consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information. Parents and guardians may contact us with questions about their child’s information or participation.
5. Information Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no online service can guarantee complete security.
6. Information Retention and Deletion
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to coordinate lessons and operate the mentoring initiative. Parents and guardians may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child’s personal information, where applicable.
